What is it?
Sleep Conditioning is the process of utilizing techniques over a period of time to create a consistent sleep schedule for infants in which they will eventually fall asleep on their own and stay asleep. With Katherine’s gentle but consistent method of sleep conditioning your baby will learn to sleep for 12 hours each night by the time they reach 12 weeks of age. Sleep Conditioning can be done at any point up to age 5, however, the approach and technique used will vary greatly depending on the child’s age. It is important to begin sleep conditioning once the baby early on to guarantee long term results.
What are the benefits?
It is normal for everyone of all ages to wake during the night. If your child does not know how to go from being awake to being asleep independently, they will wake up fully seeking that help to go back to sleep. This type of fractured sleep is highly detrimental. Studies have shown that waking up every 2 hours over the course of 8 hours of sleep is almost as detrimental to the body as never having gone to sleep at all. With Sleep Conditioning, your baby will learn to be an independent sleeper, meaning they will be able to fall asleep on their own and stay asleep with no dependencies.
